Hello world!

Day 1 of being officially online. I just thought I would start with a more informal, friendly introduction to myself. My name is Chloe, I am 30 years old and live in Fife, with my two children and my two fur babies.

A little bit more about me...

So I have always been interested in art and painting. Self confidence is not something I have had in abundance when it comes to my work, so it has only been lately in the last year or so that I have started properly documenting and publishing my work. I am working on building myself up in terms of with confidence and formally. Self-love has played a huge part in being confident enough to publish my own work without feeling the need to compare my work to other artists and movements.

I am a huge fan, as I am sure if you have read my about me you would have gathered, of nature. Woodland walks, wild camping and being mindful of the impact you are having on the environment and local ecosystem. I do like to use natural elements such as dried flowers, sticks etc but the things I use generally come from my own garden and indoor plants.

I have a fondness of rocks, shells, leaves and sticks. I love how objects can be shaped so beautifully by nature and the patterns and textures that each of them individually hold. Camping a lot, surrounded by shadows, feeling the aura and power of local legends, silhouettes of trees and seeing the night sky glimpsing through the canopy are a few of my favourite things in life.

I hope that my work represents this and as I am getting older I have realised that for myself, perfecting a straight line is not my main goal when creating a piece of work, but rather to garner the textures and patterns and create something that reflects that on canvas.

I also make paper-mache sculptures and I hope to find a way to photograph my work as currently I am without a formal studio setting and is hard to find opportunities. But I hope to keep everyone updates on my works and hopefully my shop will be open soon with prints, postcards and canvases available.

I would be interested in doing commission work, but I would only do this based on a 25% deposit beforehand due to being let down priorly and having to cover the cost of materials and my own time. Commissioned work never resells as high as the it was originally priced and can often depending on how specific the design is.

Thanks for taking the time to read!
